About Known

Helping families create healthier homes—with more confidence and less overwhelm.

Known was created to bring clarity to a space filled with conflicting advice, confusing claims, and far too many decisions.

We help families understand what matters, prioritize the highest-impact changes, and take practical steps toward a healthier home—one room, one habit, and one decision at a time.

Why We Started Known

For years, we approached this challenge from two very different perspectives. One of us was caring for patients in the hospital. The other was standing in the cleaning aisle trying to figure out which product was actually worth bringing home.

Despite coming from different backgrounds, we kept arriving at the same conclusion: Families don't need more information. They need a trusted place to start. So we built the company we wished existed.

What We Believe

Clarity Over Confusion

Healthy-home decisions shouldn't require hours of research or dozens of browser tabs.

Progress Over Perfection

Small, meaningful changes often matter more than trying to change everything at once.

Research Over Trends

We focus on credible information and practical guidance—not fear-based headlines or passing fads.

Families First

Every recommendation is filtered through a simple question: Would we feel comfortable using this in our own homes?

This Snapshot uses broad exposure-reduction principles from environmental health research. A score of 100 is intentionally rare because no modern home is exposure-free.
