This does not mean one product causes one disease. The pathway is more nuanced than that. Genetics, nutrition, stress, body composition, lifestyle, and environment all play a role. A few simple starting points:
- Swap plastic food storage for glass or stainless steel when possible.
- Avoid heating food in plastic.
- Choose fragrance-free or transparent personal care and cleaning products.
- Reduce pesticide use inside and around the home.
- Dust and vacuum regularly, especially where kids play.
- Pay attention to the products used most often, not the ones used once in a while.
